Rocky’s Corner

Dear Fellow New Yorkers:

The media is full of horror stories. Sometimes we wonder why we are living in New York. Here’s my reason why. The love of my life, “Rocky”, a three pound Yorkshire Terrier, ran away one weekend. Heart broken and frantic we did what we could do to find him. As the days and hours went by we grew more disputant that we would never hear his little bark, see his tiny tail wag or receive his love again. But our prayers were answered.

Rocky was returned to us safe and sound (and with a new hairdo!). We couldn’t accomplish this alone, however. It took the effort of my fellow New Yorkers (Met and Yankee Fans!). You know who you are. Especially New York’s Finest, the men in blue. Obviously a lost pet is not top priority (and rightly so) for our law enforcement leaders. However, without their proficiency and skills this tale (tail) might have had a sad and unresolved ending for us. We New Yorkers owe them respect and gratitude for being there when someone needs a caring heart and a shoulder to lean on.

A special thank you to Detective Classi, Det. Dowd Det. Cavano, P.O. Wells and P.O. Reiner of the 106th Precinct in Queens and Lt. Fallon and P.O. Santiago of the 5th Precinct of Nassau County. You are the Best! Special thanks to for being there for us from the beginning to the end. She provided the hope and guidance through this very harrowing ordeal.As a result of this incident, we heard of the heart wrenching tales from so many people that loose their pets or find strays.

It is very difficult to put into words the emotions we felt with all the help we received. Help came from family and friends. Numerous strangers extended themselves in all ways to help find Rocky. These are the people that make me feel proud to say I’m a New Yorker! Thank you my neighbors and friends. Woof-Woof!

You wouldn’t believe the loss of appetite and sleep that this little creature caused us.

And Now We Are Happy To Have Rocky Back Home With His Brother Samson Causing Mischief And Giving Us Unconditional Love…..
